Aston Villa Vs. Liverpool farce
The Villa players obviously got together over New Year, the idiots.

Half the U23 team trained with the seniors so tonight, against the Scouse first team (Salad, Mané etc) there are a bunch of children who have never played on that pitch before and most of them got dropped off by their mothers for the match and someone had to go out and verify they were part of the club before being allowed in.

It's unfair to have them play this. Reminds me of Water's debut and Allardyce's kid's cup game. It'll ruin some of these promising kids due to the irresponsibility of their role models.

All games should go ahead...if players test positive for the virus, then that's down to to the club's and players involved not respecting the rules... it's not fucking rocket science...if you have a party every cunt will get it....I've lost family members to covid and it's not just old people..... I've come to the conclusion over the last year that most people in this country are thick as shit!

The difference is clubs don’t mind virtually forfeiting a cup match, but don’t want to do the same with a league game. But they don’t want to miss out on the tv money so will play a weakened team. Also, with a cup game you won’t have other clubs threatening legal action for fielding a weakened team.

Sven - U21s are exempt from the list of 25 so they could have put a team out if the rules were the same. But rules aside, if an entire squad and staff being unable to attend isn't extenuating circumstances then what is?

For a Premier league game you have to have 14 players to be able to complete a fixture.
Am guessing they would have to be from the 25 you have registered to play in your PL squad

With an FA Cup game I guess you can use any player contracted incl u23's and u18's.
Still a bit of a farce to have a Villa team with nil first team experience.
And obviously clubs below the Premier league arent going to have lots of spare players

On the BBC Sport app earlier in the week it said the game had been postponed. How was it made to go ahead when the Man City c Everton game was called off in between Xmas and NY? Seems that the villa squad was hit more by covid than the Man City squad

Here's a clue

Just seen what my phone did in the OP. Obviously I meant Salah, not Salad and perhaps less obviously I meant Bywater, not Water.
